Carsen Musser recorded the win in goal Friday night as the Madison Capitols edged the Chicago Steel 7-6 in a United States Hockey League game before an announced crowd of 2,200 at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena in Middleton, Wis.
Musser made 20 saves on the 26 shots he faced (.769 percentage) as Madison improved to 3-0. It’s the best start to a season for the franchise, which started in 1984.
Musser has a 2-0 record. In 120 minutes, he’s allowed eight goals on the 46 shots he’s faced (.826 percentage).
Madison and the Green Bay Gamblers are tied for the USHL Eastern Conference with 3-0 records for six points.
The Capitols are idle until playing at the Lincoln Stars Oct. 7-8.
