7 come 11
7 players score 11 TDs for Huskies in win

Seven players scored 11 touchdowns for the Class 2A top-ranked Jackson County Central football team in a 77-0 win over Sibley East Friday at Swearingen Field.
“It was just a physical mismatch,” said JCC coach Tom Schuller. “That happens sometimes in sports.
“I’m proud of our guys. We got everybody in. We’ve lost a couple of JV games, so it was great to get those guys quite a bit of playing time, so that was awesome.”
Roman Voss had a hand in six touchdowns for the Huskies, now 3-0. He ran for a touchdown on each of his only two carries of the game on plays covering 48 and 17 yards.
Voss was 7-for-12 passing for 163 yards and four TDs.
Two of those went to Isaac Hesebeck on plays of 5 and 40 yards. He also threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Gage Johnson and a four-yarder to Ben Gallagher.
Johnson scored three TDs as in addition to his receiving score he had touchdown runs of 25 and 17 yards.
Brody Anderson went in from 28 yards out, Haiden Warmka scored on a two-yard burst out and Dalton Wilking went in from one yard out.
Jackson County Central had 539 yards offense, 359 rushing and 180 passing. The Huskies held the Wolverines to 90 yards, 43 on the ground and 47 in the air.
JCC is at Pipestone next week. The Arrows are 2-1 after a 28-7 win at Minnesota Valley Lutheran Friday.
That game marks the halfway point of the regular-season schedule and an indicator of what’s ahead in the Section 3AA playoffs.
“That’s going to be one of our big challengers in the section and we’ll see where it leads us,” said Schuller, who said it was a tough week of practice leading up to the Sibley East game with coaches Wade Wacker and Shad Wacker not at practice.
“We’re going to have the whole coaching staff back this week,” he said “It was a little disjointed this week with but we’re looking forward to prepping for a good Pipestone team and to secure the number one seed in the section.”
JCC recorded the 50th shutout in school history vs. the Wolverines. The Huskies had allowed 46 points coming in and a lot of those points had been scored on the first unit.
“We’re playing better defensively,” said Schuller. “We got some guys back and that’s made a big difference, but the offense was outstanding again.
“There’s a couple of reasons for that,” he continued. “A, we’re blocking really well and B, there’s a lot of guys that we’re blocking who are special guys. They can run through you, around you, or past you. It’s a special group of skill players.”
After this week’s road contest at Pipestone, JCC is back at Swearingen Field for homecoming vs. Minnesota Valley Lutheran. The Chargers (0-3) host Windom (1-2) this week.
