
Jackson County Central won over Belle Plaine in both boys and girls basketball in Big South Conference play Friday night and the Windom Area boys hockey team dropped a nonconference game to Becker/Big Lake.
In Jackson, the JCC boys welcome Ben Gallagher back to the lineup and the junior was one of four Huskies to score in double figures in an 84-69 win over the visiting Tigers.
Weston Rowe led JCC with 18 points, Grant Freking scored 17, Thomas Sether netted 16 and Gallagher finished with 12.
Jackson County Central is 17-2 on the season with a monster week of three home games next week.
The JCC girls went to Belle Plaine and earned an 86-82 win.
Rylie Cother capped a remarkable week with 53 points vs. the Tigers. She scored a school-record 61 points at Maple River Monday and 38 against Pipestone on Tuesday.
The Huskies won their 12th straight and are now 15-6.
Both JCC basketball teams host Windom on Tuesday, with the boys playing first at 6 p.m., followed by the girls.
The Windom Area boys hockey team lost at Windom City Arena Friday, falling 4-2 to Becker/Big Lake.
Nick Espenson and Andrei Rivera scored for the Eagles, who are 5-14-1 and play again Saturday as they head to Fairmont for a 5 p.m. game.
