Jackson County Central won the second state football championship in school history Friday, winning 42-26 over Staples-Motley in the Class 2A game at Prep Bowl XLII at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Clay Malchow rushed for three touchdowns for the Huskies and Grant Freking threw three touchdown passes.
Malchow scored on runs of 1, 39 and 21 yards.
Two of Freking’s TD passes went to Ben Dahlin on plays of 67 and 69 yards. The other was a 24-yarder to Carson Pohlman.
JCC finishes the season with a 13-0 record, the first undefeated season in school history.
