
The Jackson County Central softball team will host the Big South Conference championship game after clinching the Small School Division title with a 13-1 win at Fairmont Tuesday.
Hadley Wachal recorded the pitching win, allowing four hits, walking two and striking out 15.
Kinley VanDeVere had three hits including leading off the game a triple and Brielle Tufvesson had three hits including a double. Miley VanDeVere had two hits including a three-run homer and Mady Wachal had two hits.
The Huskies will host Large School Division champion New Ulm in the conference championship game on Saturday. The start time will be determined.
Martin County West’s softball team won its final regular-season home game, beating Sleepy Eye 8-1.
Hannah Rosenberg had three hits for the Mavericks. Maddie Carlson had two hits and was the winning pitcher, striking out nine.

The JCC track and field program broke two school record and tied two others at the Trojan Relays in Worthington.
For the boys, Clay Malchow set the 110-meter high hurdle record (15.34) and Ben Dahlin again topped his own record in the 200 meters (22.16).
Also, Quinn Landherr equaled the pole vault record (13-0). Rylie Cother tied the girls high jump record.
The Huskies were fourth in Class AA team standings for both the boys and girls.
Tavin Miller of the JCC boys golf team came away an all-conference award from the Big South Conference Championship at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton.
Miller tied for 14th out of 84 golfers with an 85. Combined with his performance during regular season meets, Miller received the award.
The Huskies were seventh as a team.
MCW’s golf teams both defeated Granada-Huntley/Truman/Martin Luther at Fox Lake Golf Course. The boys won 178-185 and the girls won 228-231.
Kale Larson was boys medalist with a 39. Brenna Heifner tied for girls medalist honors with a 54.
The JCC baseball team lost 10-0 in five innings at Class 2A No. 4 Fairmont Tuesday. Csrson Doescher had the Huskies lone hit, a third-inning single.
The Martin County West baseball team lost twice to Mankato Loyola at ISG Field in Mankato, losing 8-3 and 16-6.
Maddex Faber had a three-run triple in the first game. Preston Cepress had three hits in the second game for the Mavericks.
