Sadie Hotzler of Jackson will be part of today’s (Saturday) short go round at the Junior World Finals Rodeo at Wrangler Rodeo Arena in Las Vegas. The top 15 from the original group of 56 contestants compete in the short go at 11:15 a.m. Minnesota time.
Aboard Q the Lights, Hotzler had runs of 20.786 and 20.4 seconds.
Also Friday, the Jackson County Central basketball teams were both winners over Waseca in Big South Conference Blue Division games.
The boys had four players score in double figures in an 87-71 home win. Grant Freking scored 24 points, Ben Gallagher 20, Weston Rowe 14 and Aiven Farmer 12.
Meanwhile, the JCC girls were 57-40 winners at Waseca.
Also in girls basketball Friday, Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther defeated Martin County West 39-28 in Truman.
In wrestling, the Martin County Red Bulls are in 24th place out of 36 teams after the first day of the Redwood River Riot in Redwood Falls.

In college wrestling Friday, No. 10 Nebraska-Kearney defeated No. 18 Augustana 25-17 in Sioux Falls.
Martin County West graduate Jaxson Rohman ranked first in the country, won 5-4 at 125 pounds and Jackson County Central grad Payton Handevidt was a winner in sudden victory overtime at 157 pounds.
In addition, MCW grad Payton Anderson won an exhibition match.
