Barnesville ended the season for the Jackson County Central football team for the second straight season as the Trojans defeated the Huskies 38-23 in a Class 2A semifinal on Friday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
JCC led 15-6 at halftime and received the second half kickoff.
Sophomore quarterback Roman Voss sustained a concussion after a one-yard gain on the first play of the third quarter and left the game.
Voss was treated at a nearby hospital and was released later in the day.
Barnesville took control of the game at that point, scoring 32 straight points before the Huskies scored in the final minute.
The Trojans will defend their state title at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24 at U.S. Bank Stadium vs. Eden Valley-Watkins. The Eagles defeated Cannon Falls 42-24 in the other Class 2A semifinal Friday.
Friday night, several former area wrestlers competed for Augustana University in Brookings.
Payton Anderson went 2-0, Jaxson Rohman and Payton Handevidt both went 1-1 and Connor Simmonds was 1-0 at the South Dakota Showcase.
