LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Jackson County Central graduate and Augustana University assistant volleyball coach Michelle Aggen has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 Award list.
"I am so proud of Michelle and we are extremely lucky to have her on our coaching staff here at Augustana," head volleyball coach Jennifer Jacobs said. "She has been instrumental in our continued improvement and success of our program the past four years, and has played a vital role in recruiting, game management, team dynamics and restoring Augie volleyball to a powerhouse in the NSIC."
The awards program, created in 2009, honors up-and-coming coaches at all levels of volleyball and the recipients serve in a range of roles, from head coach to volunteer assistant to club director. Nominees had to be younger than 30 years old in 2021 to qualify for the award.
She is in her fourth year as at Augustana.
In 2021, the Vikings were 19-11 overall and in the NSIC.
Aggen started as a graduate assistant at Augustana in the spring of 2018 and was elevated into the assistant coach role.
Her duties as assistant coach consist of co-recruiting coordinator, travel coordinator, alumni relations, club tournament director, and co-camp director. She is also in charge of the offensive and defensive scouting.
She is married to Chris Aggen and they have two children, Caffrey and Easton.
