Second-seeded and defending champion Albany outscored Jackson County Central 54-20 in the second half in coming from behind to beat JCC 87-66 in the quarterfinals of the state Class 2A boys basketball tournament at Target Center.
Albany was 21-for-29 from the field for 72 percent in the second half.
Jackson County Central goes to the consolation bracket, where it will play Pelican Rapids at 8 p.m. Thursday at Ganglehoff Center at Concordia University in St. Paul. The Vikings lost to third-seeded Lake City 72-61.
Roman Voss and Grant Freking scored 19 points apiece for JCC, with Weston Rowe scoring 18.
Albany’s Zeke Austin led all players with 32 points.
Big South Conference rival Waseca and Pelican Rapids play the first 2A consolation game at 6 p.m.
The 2A semifinals are Friday at Williams Arena with Breck and Minnehaha Academy playing at 6 p.m. followed by Albany vs. Lake City at 8 p.m.
