
Paylin Sether, a junior at Jackson County Central, brought home an individual honor and her team had a great showing at the AAU Girls National Volleyball Championships that concluded last weekend.
Sether is an Outside Hitter and a Defensive Specialist with Avera Sports Kairos 16 Delta team based in Sioux Falls. The team draws players from southeast South Dakota and southwest Minnesota.
She earned AAU All-American honors at the end of the tournament, held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. One of Paylin’s teammates, AJ Venekamp of Sioux Falls Jefferson, was also honored.
Kairos Delta played 13 matches against teams from around the country in the national tournament, compiling an 11-2 record and finishing in third place in a field of 151 teams in their division.
North Alabama Spikers Association was first in that group and Iowa Select Black second.
Kairos Delta won eight straight matches in one stretch and had a set record of 22-6.
