Five members of the Jackson County Central softball team have been named to the all-Big South Conference Small School Division team, and another is an honorable mention selection,
Named all-conference were senior Lauren Johnson, juniors Bailey Finck and Hadley Wachal, sophomore Mady Wachal and eighth-grader Kinley VanDeVere. Freshman Brielle Tufvesson is on the honorable mention list.
Hadley Wachal is on the team for the fourth time (three all-conference and one honorable mention); while Finck (three all-conference picks); and Mady Wachal (two all-conference and one honorable mention) are both on the team for the second time.
Johnson, Tufvesson and VanDeVere are first-time honorees.
The Huskies’ five selections are the most all-conference picks in the Small School Division. Luverne had three, Fairmont, Pipestone, St. James Area and Windom all had three; while Blue Earth Area and Redwood Valley each had one.
New Ulm led the Large School Division with five selections. Tri-City United had four, Belle Plaine and St. Peter three each, Worthington two and Waseca one.
New Ulm won the overall conference title, winning the championship game 11-5 over Jackson County Central.
