Two former area high school football players have received recognition on the all-North Star Athletic Association football team.
Fairmont High School graduate is a second-team choice, while Jackson County Central grad Nico Feroni was an honorable mention selection. Both are seniors.
Tordsen, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound senior defensive end, was a second-team all-conference choice for the second straight year.
He tied for fifth most tackles on the Trojans' defense with 49, with 20 solo tackles and 29 assisted tackles. Tordsen also had 3.5 quarterback sacks for 35 yards in lost yardage and led DSU with 10.5 tackles-for-loss of 49 yards.
Tordsen finished his Dakota State career with 132 tackles, 27 tackles-for-loss for 105 yards and nine quarterback sacks for 72 yards in losses.
Feroni is a 6-foot, 190-pound linebacker. He recorded 40 tackles (17 solo, 23 assists) this season. He also had two tackles-for-loss for seven yards.
He returned an interception 33 yards for a touchdown vs. Iowa Wesleyan on Oct. 23.
The Trojans finished their season with a record of 6-4, their first winning season since 2017. DSU tied with Waldorf for third place in the NSAA with a 5-3 conference record.
