Jackson County Central senior Ben Dahlin has been named to the South roster for the Minnesota High School Football All-Star Game on Saturday, Dec. 14 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
This game is sponsored by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association and the Minnesota Vikings.
Dahlin is a 5-foot-11, 165-pound defensive back.
Fairmont had two players named to the team, running back Elijah Johnson and center Hank Artz.
Other players from Big South Conference schools named to the team were defensive back Damarius Russell of Waseca and offensive tackle Jacob Allex of Marshall.
Chanhassen’s Cullen Nelson is the head coach.
The All-Star game used a North-South format from 1945-1960 and 1974-1979. A Metro-Outstate format was used from 1980-2010 before going back to North-South.
Under the current format, the South leads the series 10-3. The South also leads the overall North-South series 18-11-1 through 30 games.
The North All-Stars won 48-14 last year for the first time in seven tries at U.S. Bank Stadium.
All-star football games in Minnesota date back to 1945.
Dahlin is the 13th Jackson County Central participants in the game since becoming a school district in 1997. Prior to that, Jackson High School had 10.
