
Teya Schmidtke of Martin County West tied for seventh place in the girls division at the Clay Target State Tournament Friday at Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake.
She hit 95 of 100 targets and hit 25 straight in one stretch. Schmidtke was named to the all-tournament team.
Three shooters, Delayna Rife of Foley, Miranda Klassen of Benson and Ava Klassen of Benson, each scored 98 to tie for first place.
For the boys, Fairmont’s Ethan Madsen recorded a perfect 100 to finish in a three-way tie for first place with Marcus Berger of LeSueur-Henderson and Mitchell Kelvie of Lakeville South.
Also for Fairmont, Dane Breitbarth tied for 23rd with a 97 that included 75 straight; and Cole Naawrocki tied for 73rd with a 91 including 25 straight.
Fairmont was 23rd as a team. Prior Lake was first.
