Sherburn native Carsen Musser recorded a win in his most recent start in goal for the Madison Capitols of the United States Hockey League and continues to rank among the league’s top goalies.
Musser made 22 saves on 24 shots in Madison’s 6-2 home win over the Dubuque Fighting Saints Saturday, recording eight in the first period, five in the second and nine in the third.
He has helped the Capitols collect points in all but two of his 12 starts this season.
Musser has a 6-2-2-2 record (wins-losses-overtime losses-shootout losses).
His goals against average of 2.61 is third in the 16-team league and his .906 save percentage is fifth.
Musser is a Colorado College commit. He was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the sixth round (166th overall) in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Madison is 12-6-4-2 on the season for 30 points, four in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.
The Capitols host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders Saturday and are then off until facing the Chicago Steel Dec. 29-30.
