ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – Accolades continue to pile up for Hanna Geistfeld of Truman.
The 6-foot senior forward on the Bethany Lutheran College women’s basketball team has been named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division III National Player of the Week.
It’s the second time this season she’s earned the honor.
In two games last week, she averaged 35.0 points, 18.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 0.5 steals. She shot 63.4 percent (26-of-41) from the field and 85.7 percent (18-for-21) from the free throw line.
Geistfeld is the NCAA Division III leader in points (430), rebounds (222), field goals (157), and free throws (111). She’s second in the country with 12 double doubles and third in scoring (25.3 ppg).
The Vikings, 12-6 overall and 7-0 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, host Martin Luther College Friday.
