Another of college football’s legendary programs has made a scholarship offer to Jackson County Central’s Roman Voss.
Voss announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) Thursday night that he has received an offer from the University of Oklahoma.
Voss said in his post that the offer came during a phone call with Joe Jon Finley, who is the Sooners’ co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach. Finley graduated from Oklahoma and spent parts of five seasons in the NFL with San Francisco, Detroit and Carolina (2012).
Voss is the top-ranked recruit in Minnesota's Class of 2026 and is the No. 13 athlete and the No. 171 prospect nationally in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. He is projected to be a tight end in college.
Oklahoma was 6-7 overall in 2024, 2-6 in its first season in the Southeastern Conference. The Sooners lost to Navy 21-20 in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Brent Venables has been the head coach for three seasons, compiling a record of 22-17.
OU began its football program in 1895 and is sixth all-time in wins (950) and winning percentage (950-348-53, .723). The Sooners have claimed seven national championships (1950, 1955, 1956, 1974, 1975, 1985, 2000).
