CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Brandon Williamson recorded his fourth quality start of the season and the eighth of his career Friday night for the Chattanooga Lookouts vs. the Rocket City Trash Pandas.
Chattanooga is the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, while Rocket City is an affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels.
The Martin County West graduate went six innings, allowing one run on one hit, walking three and striking out seven.
Williamson was not involved in the decision as the Lookouts and Trash Pandas were tied 1-1 when he left the game.
For the season, Williamson has a 5-1 record and his earned run average has dipped a bit more, down to 3.68. His ERA was 11.25 after his first start.
He’s pitched 51 and one-third innings, which is tied for the most in the Southern League. He’s allowed 21 runs on 42 hits, walking 28 and striking out 55. His strikeout total ranks fourth in the league.
Chattanooga has a 28-21 record and is in second place in the Southern Division of the Southern League, a half-game behind the Trash Pandas.
