Martin County West graduate Brandon Williamson did not allow a hit or run in four and two-third innings in his latest start for the Double-A Central Arkansas Travelers vs. the Corpus Christi Hooks Friday night.
He allowed two walks and hit a batter while striking out nine before reaching his pitch limit. Williamson threw 90 pitches, 55 for strikes as he fell short of qualifying to be the winning pitcher.
The Travelers defeated the Hooks 11-1 as they won their fourth straight over Corpus Christi to start the six-game series.
Williamson has made 10 starts for Arkansas since being promoted from High-A Everett. In 50.1 innings, he has allowed 30 runs (23 earned) on 48 hits, walking 19 and striking out 67. He was a 1-4 record with a 4.11 earned-run average.
