Katie Lange earned a spot in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the women’s freestyle division at the Bill Farrell Memorial International at the New York Athletic Club in New York City.
The Martin County West graduate won two matches and lost one to finish second at 62kg. Lange is taking an Olympic year after winning the 143-pound title for Augsburg University at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships last March.
Lange won 12-2 2:19 over Michael Errthum (USA) in the quarterfinals and 4-0 1:06 over Aleah Noelle Nickel (Canada) in her semifinal match.

Lange, who is training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, will compete in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials April 19-20 at the Bryce Jordan Center on the campus of Penn State University in University Park, Penn.
The winner at each weight there qualifies to wrestle in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
