Jaxson Rohman is in the finals of the 125-pound weight class at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships for the second straight year.
The fourth-seeded Rohman, a junior at Augustana University, won 6-5 in sudden-victory overtime over top-seeded and undefeated James Joplin of Lander in the semifinals today (Saturday).
It’s also the second consecutive year Rohman has defeated the number one seed in the semifinals. Rohman placed second in last year’s national tournament.
The former Martin County Red Bull is 3-0 at this year’s national tourney.
His opponent in the finals will be third-seeded Christian Meija of McKendree. Meija pinned No. 2 seed Shane Corrigan of Wisconsin-Parkside in the semifinals.
Augustana is seventh in the team standings. Central Oklahoma is first.
Saturday night’s session starts at 7 p.m.

First round: Pinned Jacob Tangpricha (Central Missouri) 2:18.
Quarterfinals: Dec. Dayson Torgerson (Colorado Mesa) 11-4.
