Martin County West graduate Brandon Williamson pitched five-plus innings and was the winning pitcher for the Arkansas Travelers in a 12-5 win over the Springfield Cardinals in a Double-A Central League game Friday.
Williamson, a second-round draft pick of the Seattle Mariners in 2019, was dominant for five innings before leaving the game in the sixth.
He allowed two earned runs on seven hits, did not walk a batter and struck out nine in five frames. He gave up three hits to start the sixth and reached 90 pitches, ending his night. Williamson threw 90 pitches, 62 for strikes.
