Doug Johnson, promoter at Jackson Motorplex and Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., has been named Promoter of the Year in both the 410 and 360 classes by the North American Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers.
It’s his first time being honored in the 410 class. He was also named the 360 winner in 2020.
Johnson and track owner Tod Quiring work together to bring events to both tracks.
The 2023 season opener at Jackson Motorplex is Tuesday, May 23 when the track showcases an IMCA Stock Car and Hobby Stock special. The first sprint car event is Friday, May 26 when the Midwest Sprint Touring Series and Midwest Power Series compete along with the Wyffels Hybrids RaceSaver Sprint Car Series.
The 45th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals is Aug. 17-19.
The first regular season event at Huset’s is Sunday, May 14.
Huset’s Speedway is boosting the weekly payout for 410 winged sprint cars.
Each 410 main event will pay at least $5,000 to win and $500 to start with select events offering a bigger payout. Second place receives $4,000 with third place earning $3,000.
The total payout for each weekly program featuring the 410 Sprint Cars, RaceSaver Sprint Car Series and the Late Model Street Stocks is more than $35,000.
