HAMPTON, Va. – Keegan Moore made an impressive return to action in his debut for the Oklahoma wrestling team this weekend at the Virginia Duals as he went 2-0, winning by a major decision and a fall.
On Friday the Jackson County Central graduate had a 4-3 lead after two periods in his 184-pound match vs. Kent State before piling up 13 points in the third period for a 17-7 major decision. The Sooners won the dual over the Golden Flashes 35-3.
Keegan followed that up Saturday with a pin in 5:19 in OU’s dual with Maryland while already leading 10-2 thanks to four takedowns. Oklahoma beat the Terrapins 41-6.
He tweeted about his return to the mat.
Keegan was a three-time state champion while at JCC.
He has the third-most wins in school history, but also ranks third in his own house.
Jay and Rhonda Moore’s youngest son compiled 227 wins with the Huskies, trailing older brothers Cooper (237) and Paden (229).
Oklahoma hosts No. 9 Missouri in a Big 12 dual Thursday.
