Hobie Hedquist picked up a win on back-to-back nights for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League.
On Friday the Heron Lake native made 40 saves in a 3-2 road win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals. By period he had 13, 10, and 17 stops.
Then on New Year’s Eve Hedquist picked up a win for a second straight night as he has 28 saves as Alberni Valley won 4-1 home over the Powell River Kings.
Hedquist has a 10-10 record for the season with a save percentage of .904 and goals against average of 3.25.
The Bulldogs are in sixth place in the BCHL’s nine-team Coastal Division with a 12-15-2 record.
Alberni Valley is at the Coastal Division leading Nanaimo Clippers Friday and host the Wenatchee Wild Saturday.
