There are eight games on the schedule involving amateur baseball teams in Region 13C today (Sunday).
Half of those games will be played in Lakefield and Heron Lake as the Frogs and Lakers both host a pair of seven-inning contests.
Lakefield will host Worthington at 2 p.m. and then Jackson at about 4 p.m. Heron Lake is home vs. Fairmont and Luverne.
Jackson and Fairmont are tied for the First Nite League lead with 5-2 records. Lakefield and Windom are both a game back.
Luverne leads the Gopher League at 6-0.

Irish Day
The Milroy Irish will take a break from league play next week as they take part in ‘Irish Day’ in Green Isle.
All four teams participating in the event are named the Irish.
The schedule:

1:30 p.m. – Milroy Irish vs. Stockmen’s Irish
4 p.m. – St. Patrick Irish vs. Stockmen’s Irish

Luke Becker
Fairmont graduate Luke Becker is hitting .248 for the Frederick Baseball Club of the Atlantic League. He has 33 hits in 133 at bats.
Becker is second on the team in runs scored with 26 and doubles with six. He also has one triple, three home runs and 10 runs batted in.
Frederick is 12-27 heading into the final game of a homestand today vs. the Gastonia Honey Hunters.
The team then goes on a nine-road trip, playing three games in each of three cities.
They’ll be at the High Point Rockers and then Becker returns to Kentucky for three games at the Lexington Counter Clocks. The road trip concludes with three games at the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
Kneeland back with MoonDogs
Windom graduate and former Jackson County Central teacher Danny Kneeland is in his first full season and second overall as manager of the Mankato MoonDogs of the Northwoods League.
Kneeland took over as the MoonDogs’ skipper the second half of the 2022 season when the previous manager left for a collegiate job. Mankato was 21-13 the second half of last season.
The MoonDogs are off to a 6-7 start. They’re at the Rochester Honkers today and at the Willmar Stingers Monday before hosting Willmar on Tuesday.
After an off day Wednesday, Mankato hosts the Minot Hot Tots at ISG Field Thursday and Friday.
Kneeland has also been on the coaching staff at Bethany Lutheran College for six seasons.
Williamson pitches Tuesday
Martin County West graduate Brandon Williamson’s next scheduled start for the Cincinnati Reds is Tuesday in Kansas City vs. the Royals.
In his most recent start vs. the Dodgers at home on Wednesday, Williamson settled in after a rocky first three innings to go 5.2 innings. Through three innings, he allowed six runs on eight hits.
The left hander would then hold the Dodgers scoreless and hitless over his last 2.2 frames. He retired 10 of the final 11 batters he faced.
Cincinnati is 30-35, four games behind Pittsburgh in the National League Central.
