CHASKA – Fairmont has taken over the top spot in the Class 2A rankings by the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association, changing places with previous No. 1 Foley.
The Cardinals have an 18-2 record. They play at Windom Saturday in the Big South Conference championship game.
Fairmont isn’t the only new top-ranked team.
Randolph went from fourth to first in Class 1A, replacing Hayfield; and Mankato West and Mahtomedi swapped positions in Class 4A.
Class 4A leader Farmington is the lone No. 1 to remain the same.
