First boys ratings; second girls poll of season
NOTE: Earlier this week we sent out ratings from the Minnesota Boys Basketball Coaches Association. From this point, we’re changing course and will use ratings by Minnesota Basketball News, a statewide basketball publication.
Jackson County Central is sixth in the first Class 2A ratings of the season by Minnesota Basketball News, a statewide basketball publication.
The Huskies were 22-9 last season and finished sixth at the state tournament.
JCC has made some changes to the early portion of its schedule due to the length of its football season. The Huskies will have a scrimmage at Springfield on Tuesday. Springfield also played in the state football tournament championship game.
The Huskies’ season opener is now Friday, Dec. 6 at New Ulm. The home opener is Tuesday, Dec. 10 vs. Estherville Lincoln Central.
Another Big South Conference teams is in the Class 2A poll as Waseca is eighth.
Teams rated first are Cherry (1A), Albany (2A), Totino-Grace (3A) and Cretin-Derham Hall (4A).
