Jackson County Central has moved up one more place to fourth in the latest Class 2A boys basketball rankings by Minnesota Basketball News, a statewide basketball publication. The Huskies, 14-1, are one of three Big South Conference teams in the 2A boys ratings.
Waseca (17-0) remains second, and Belle Plaine (11-2) is new to the poll at No. 10.
JCC’s lone loss was at Belle Plaine 71-61 on Jan. 3. The Huskies host Waseca on Saturday, Feb. 8.
Albany (14-0) remains first in the 2A rankings.
Another BSC school is rated as Marshall (13-3) is No. 10 in Class 3A. JCC defeated the Tigers 71-67 in double overtime in their only scheduled meeting Dec. 31.
All four leaders are the same for the boys ratings with Cherry (17-0) on top in Class 1A, Benilde-St. Margaret’s (11-0) first in Class 3A and Cretin-Derham Hall (14-0) leading Class 4A.
Three of the girls leaders remain the same including Marshall (18-0) in Class 3A.
Goodhue (13-4) again leads Class 1A and Providence Academy (16-0) is the Class 2A leader. Maple Grove (12-2) is the new Class 4A leader.
