JACKSON – Blue Earth Area scored all of its runs in two innings in downing the Jackson County Central baseball team 12-5 Monday at Wacker Field.
The Huskies, now 1-3, had a scheduled game at St. James Area Tuesday postponed. No makeup date has been set.
Trace Michelson homered in the first inning, scoring Bryson Powers ahead of him, to stake JCC to a 2-0 lead.
The Buccaneers put four runs on the board to take the lead, with the Huskies scoring a single run in the fourth to pull within 4-3.
BEA took control of the game with an eight-run outburst in the top of the sixth. Jackson County Central scored one in the home half of the sixth and added another in the seventh.
Levi Lindley was on base four times as he had two hits and walked twice.
Cameron Scholten, Logan Butzon and Payton Handevidt had the other hits for JCC.
Lindley went the first five innings and took the pitching loss. Andrew Boyum got two outs in the sixth before Cameron Scholten got the final four outs, three on strikeouts.
JCC is off until hosting Windom on Thursday, April 21.
