Jackson County Central’s girls basketball team closed its regular-season schedule Saturday with a 77-40 win over Tri-City United at the Big South Conference Showcase in Windom. The Titans were the lone non-BSC team in the 14-team, seven-game event.
After what Coach Rafe York termed a slow-paced first half the Huskies held a 33-28 lead. JCC outscored TCU 44-12 in the second 18 minutes.
Maci Farmer led Jackson County Central in scoring with 31 points with Rylie Cother scoring 25.
The Huskies are 11-12 on the season.
JCC is the seeded sixth for the Section 3AA South Sub-Section tournament and opens the postseason at third-seeded Fairmont at 7 p.m. Saturday. Look for more on that in a future newsletter.
In the final two games of the Showcase, St. Peter downed Waseca 56-38 and Marshall beat Luverne 51-37. The Saints are scheduled to host the Tigers for the conference championship Tuesday.
