Jackson County Central’s boys golf team was 11th in the team standings and the Huskies had one golfer in the top 10 individually at the Big South Conference tournament Monday at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton. JCC did not have a complete girls team.
The Huskies had a 354 total as a team. Luverne was first with 303.
Tavin Miller led Jackson County Central, placing eighth in a field of 71 golfers with a 79.
Sam Brinkman was 14th (82), Kassey Grimmius 53rd (92), Weston Rowe 64th (101), Luke Anderson 65th (101) and Matt Haley 66th (103).
Sam Brinkman was named to the all-conference team, which is based on regular season and conference tournament play. The complete all-conference list can be found later in this newsletter.
St. Peter’s Kaiden Brovold was medalist with a 71.
Ava Brinkman led the JCC girls by placing 35th of 60 golfers with a 108. Rachel Mohr was 46th (116) and Shala Voehl 53rd (125).
Redwood Valley was the girls team champion with a 339. Julian Brown of Redwood was medalist with a 75.

Brinkmans earn 11th BSC honor
There have been eight Big South Conference golf seasons and at least one Brinkman has earned all-conference honors in each of those seasons.
There has been at least one Brinkman earn all-Big South Conference in each of the eight seasons.
Sam has now pulled even with Jack with three apiece. Jack’s senior season was canceled.
Also, I can’t find any records but there’s a chance Joe and Abby may have picked up some all-Southwest Conference honors before the Big South Conference was formed by bringing together the former Southwest and South Central conferences.
On that note, if anyone has information on how many all-Southwest Conference honors Brett, Scott and Kaylee Benson had, pass that along and I’ll share that.
