Boys 2nd; girls 3rd

Huskies compete in Class AA at Sentinel Relays

Jackson County Central was second in the boys team standings in the girls in the Class AA portion of the 68^th edition of the Sentinel Relays Friday in Fairmont.

Fairmont won the boys title with 174 points, with the Huskies next with 115 points. Fairmont won the girls meet with 168.5 points, followed by River Valley (112.5) and JCC (102).

Ben Dahlin and Clay Malchow each had two first-place finishes for the JCC boys and made up of a winning relay team for the Huskies.

Dahlin won the 100 meters in 11.25 seconds and the 200 meters (22.73), while Malchow won the 110-meter high hurdles (15.84) and 300-meter intermediate hurdles (41.70).

Malchow ran the opening leg of JCC’s winning 4x200 relay team and Dahlin ran the anchor leg. Ron'Queall Kyle and Quinn Landherr ran the other legs for the team, which won in 1:33.01.

Rylie Cother won two events for Jackson County Central, the 100 hurdles (16.24) and long jump (16-5). She was also second in the high jump (4-10).

Paylin Sether was second in the triple jump (30-10) and Tianna Uilk was second in the shot put (31-9).

The Huskies will compete in the Section 2A true team meet Tuesday in Wells. Field events start at 2 p.m. and running events start at 3:15.
