WINDOM – Jackson County Central had a total of 22 all-conference performances at the Big South Conference Small School Division track and field meet Saturday.
The Huskies had 13 all-conference performances in the girls meet and nine in the boys. The top three places in individual events and top two in relays earned all-conference honors.
JCC was second in the girls team standings. Luverne was first with 215.5 points, with the Huskies next with 145.
Jackson County Central’s boys were third. Luverne won that meet also with 132 points, followed by Redwood Valley (115.5) and JCC (100).
Elsa Landherr earned all-conference honors in all four of her events. She won the 400 meters in 1:01.91, was second in the 200 meters (27.35) and was also runner-up in the triple jump (31-6).
Landherr also ran the anchor leg on JCC’s winning 4200-meter relay team (1:51.61). Running the first three legs were Daysia Tomlin, Kendra Haar and Hannah Carson.
Peyton Hanson was all-conference in three events including winning the pole vault by clearing 9 feet, 8 inches. That broke her own mark of 9-7 set last year. She was also third in the 100-meter hurdles (18.05) and third in the 300-meter hurdles (48.73).
Tomlin and Rylie Cother were both all-conference in two events.
In addition to running on the winning 4x200 team, Tomlin was third in the 100 meters (13.81). Cother was third in the high jump (4-10) and also third in the long jump (14-9).
Four other Huskies were all-conference in one event.
Payten Benda was second in the 100 hurdles (17.88) and Else Paplow placed third in the 3200 meters (13:00.76). Also earning all-conference status were Haar and Carson on the winning 4x200 team.
Six JCC boys were all-conference in two events and three others in one.
Andrew Boyum earned two all-conference honors including breaking his own school record in placing second in the 3200 meters in 10:07.35. That bettered his time of 10:12 on May 3.
He also ran on the 4x800 team that placed second in 9:11.45. Running the other legs were Evan Paplow, Kie Anderson and Clayton Cavness.
Evan Paplow was all-conference in two events. Besides the 4x800 team, he was third in the 1600 meters (4:41.37).
Quinn Landherr was all-conference in two events, placing third in the 400 meters (53.93) and also third in the pole vault (11-2).
Three of the four Huskies on the winning 4x200 team that had a time of 1:37.08 earned all-conference honors in two events.
Gabe Wolff ran the first leg of the relay and was second in the 100 meters (11.5), Evan Insichenmay ran the second leg and was second in the high jump (5-10) and Ridge VanWestern ran third on the 4x200 and placed second in the 300 hurdles (43.85).
Alex Koster ran the other 4x200 leg to earn all-conference honors. Other all-BSC athletes were Anderson and Cavness off of the 4x800 unit.
Jackson County Central will compete in the Trojan Relays at Worthington Tuesday. The JCC girls are at the state true team meet in Stillwater Saturday.
