For the second game in a row, Jackson started a bit slow in Game One of its amateur baseball playoff series with Tracy Wednesday at Wacker Field.
Also for the second game in a row it was all Bulls after that slow start.
Jackson scored 17 runs in the third inning when it sent 23 batters to the plate and added four more runs in the fourth in winning 21-0 over the visiting Engineers.
Since falling behind Adrian 3-0 in the first inning on Sunday, the Bulls have scored 42 unanswered runs.
That slow start was a little troubling to Jackson manager Scott Bahr, although everything turned out all right in the end.
"We didn't start the way I wanted us to start," said Bahr. "And I was a little scared of that. When you're a heavier favorite, sometimes you worry about how you're going to react, so I didn't like that, but then obviously we came around and had that huge inning that kind of took the wind out of the sails so we were okay there. Our pitchers threw strikes and we picked the ball up really well. We'll come out of that with some real positives."
Payton Handevidt had three hits, all in the third inning and also walked later in the game.
Andy Wolf also had three hits in the game (two in the third) and walked for the Bulls.
Briar Rowley had two hits and walked twice, while Easton Bahr and Chris Gumto had two hits apiece.
Shad Wacker doubled and walked twice, Evan Olesen doubled and walked once, Gabe Wolff tripled and Zach Neal also had a hit for Jackson.
Ryan Rasche went the first four innings and was the winning pitcher. Kevin Holm, Lucas Gardner and Sean Minder each pitched one inning.
"We got everybody in the game and that's always great" Scott Bahr said. "Everybody got to play some defense and everybody got to hit. You just never know when you're going to need somebody going down the line."
Game Two is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tracy. If Game Three is necessary, it would be in Jackson at 2 p.m. Sunday.
"We had a nice crowd," Bahr commented. "That was great. We appreciate that. We still have some business to do. We have to take care of that Saturday so we don't have to play at home again on Sunday."
