ST. JAMES – Four Jackson pitchers held Mountain Lake to one hit while striking out 21 as the Bulls defeated the Lakers 5-2 in First Nite League amateur baseball Wednesday. Jackson pitching did walk seven batters and the Bulls committed five errors.
Gavin Jacobsen pitched five innings and recorded the win. Will Larson and Kevin Holm each pitched one inning and Sean Miner went the final two.
Blaise Jacobsen had three hits and three runs batted in for Jackson. Payton Handevidt had two hits including a double.
Chris Gumto had a double. Andy Wolf had a hit and walked twice. Also getting hits were Alex Bretzman, Nate Monson, Ryan Rasche, Mason Pohlman and Leighton Polz. Ben Spaeth had an RBI groundout and Shad Wacker had a sacrifice fly.
Jackson, 3-1, has a non-league game scheduled at Blue Earth at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
