JACKSON – Evan Olesen pitched eight innings of shutout baseball in relief and had the game-winning hit as Jackson defeated Hadley 2-1 Wednesday at Wacker Field.
Olesen allowed three hits, walking two and striking out seven. He also had two hits including the game-winning double in the eighth.
The Buttermakers got on the board in the top of the first, scoring an unearned run off of starter Gavin Jacobsen in his only inning of work. Jacobsen struck out three.
Jackson tied the game in the second as Payton Handevidt singled, stole second and scored on an error.
There was no more scoring until the home half of the eighth.
Andy Wolf was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, with Shad Wacker drawing a walk. With one out, Olesen doubled to score Wolf and give the Bulls the lead.
Easton Bahr and Blaise Jacobsen also had hits for Jackson.
Jackson had been scheduled to Larchwood Saturday, but that game has been canceled. The Bulls will host Lakefield at 2 p.m. Sunday.
