Through games to this point of the amateur baseball season, the Jackson Bulls have won, lost, won, lost.
That’s not a long-term recipe for success, but the Bulls do hope to get back in the win column when they host Worthington at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wacker Field.
In its most recent game, Jackson lost its home opener to Windom 6-3 on Wednesday.
Seth Busch had two hits and was hit by a pitch, while Easton Bahr had two hits including a double. Evan Olesen had a hit, was hit by a pitch and had a run batted in and Carter Evans had a hit and an RBI.
Blake Evans tripled for the Bulls. Also recording hits were Chris Gumto and Blaise Jacobsen.
Ryan Rasche, Javen Baumgarn, Landon Vaske and Andrew Boyum all pitched for Jackson.
Luke Gilbertson went the distance on the mound to record the win for the Pirates, striking out two. He also had two hits at the plate.
Alex Borsgard had two hits for Windom and was a Pirate looking for an eye patch following the game after holding onto the ball and tagging out Jackson’s Seth Busch in a play at the plate in the seventh inning:
Jake Tauer added two hits for Windom, which is now 4-0.
