A stretch of five games in as many days waits for the Jackson County Central baseball team this week.
The Huskies won three of four games last week to put their overall record at 8-3. JCC swept a doubleheader from Pipestone Monday, lost to St. James Area on Tuesday and then shut out Redwood Valley on Thursday.
This week starts with another Monday doubleheader as the Huskies head to Fairmont for a 4 p.m. doubleheader against the Class 2A top-ranked Cardinals at Herb Wolf Field.
Fairmont is 10-1 overall, starting its season with 10 straight wins before losing 5-4 to Marshall in the second game of a doubleheader Friday after winning the first game 3-1.
On Tuesday, Jackson County Central has a 5:30 p.m. game at Luverne.
The Cardinals are undefeated in the Big South Conference Small School Division standings with a 6-0 record while the Huskies are 7-2. Luverne won the first meeting between the teams 16-7 at Wacker Field on April 25.
JCC then has a home-and-home series with Windom to close out the week as the teams will play at Wacker Field Thursday and at Island Park in Windom Friday. The Eagles start the week tied with the Huskies in the loss column in the conference standings, having played four fewer games.
Both games start at 5:30 p.m.
