Carsen Musser made a U.S. National hockey team career-high 44 saves to help the Under 18s to a 7-6 overtime win over Army Sunday in West Point, N.Y.
The Sherburn native made 10 saves in the first period, 15 in the second, 16 in the third and three in overtime before NTDP won it 2:07 into the extra frame.
Musser then split time in goal on Thursday, playing the first 28:09 in goal in the U18s 5-2 win over the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich. He stopped 14 of the 16 shots he faced.
For the season Musser has played 391 minutes and five seconds in seven games. He has a 5-1 record, a 3.22 goals against average and a save percentage of .889.
The NTDP hosts Youngstown again Friday night.
