Season high not quite enough to lift Magic over Trojans
Big South Conference East Division champion Martin County Area had a season high score Friday but it wasn’t quite enough to lift the Magic past Worthington in the Big South Conference gymnastics championship dual.
The Class A 8th-ranked Trojans edged No. 16 MCA 138.875-138.225 in the meet at Live Fit Sport & Wellness Center in Fairmont.
The previous high for the Magic was 137.375 at St. James Area on Jan. 30.
Lillie Schultz had three first-place finishes for MCA as she won vault (9.25), floor (9.10) and the all around (35.475). She was also second on bars (8.625).
Jadyn Montgomery was third on bars (8.50) and third in all around (34.725). Also, Adrianna Knafla placed third on beam (8.85).
Worthington’s firsts came from Jada Milbrath on bars (8.95) and Jordis Weber on beam (9.125).
Martin County Area will compete in the Section 2A meet on Thursday at K&G Gymnastics in Mankato.
