Jackson County Central will carry an 11-game winning streak into Saturday’s 11 a.m. Section 3AA tournament winner’s bracket game vs. Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta in Marshall.
On the first day of the tournament Tuesday the Huskies, the third-seeded team in the South Sub-Section, defeated sixth-seeded Minneota/Canby 16-1 and second-seeded Luverne 9-4.
The Tigers, who were the number one seed in the North Sub-Section, also won a pair of games Tuesday as they beat Montevideo 10-0 and Litchfield 7-3.
JCC carries a 14-8 record into Saturday’s game, while MACA is 17-2.
The Tigers have won six in a row and 13 of their last 14. MACA’s losses have come to Marshall and Mounds Park Academy.
The winner of that game is off until Tuesday, while the loser goes to an elimination game at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The other game matching tournament unbeaten teams at 11 a.m. has Pipestone (18-5) playing Dassel-Cokato (9-10).
Elimination bracket games at 1 p.m. have Windom (8-14) playing West Central Area (13-6) and Luverne (14-7) meeting Litchfield (5-15).
