
A dozen members of the Jackson County Central boys track and field team earned all-conference honors in at least one event as the Huskies won the team title at the Big South Conference Small School meet Saturday at Paulsen Field in Pipestone.
The top three finishers in individual events and the top two in relays earned all-conference laurels.
JCC’s boys received 21 all-BSC selections and seven girls earned 12 all-conference spots.
Jackson County Central won the boys team title with 151 points, followed by Redwood Valley (143.5) and Luverne (135).
It’s the first track and field championship for the school for either boys or girls.
Clay Malchow had two first-place finishes, winning the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.04 seconds and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles (42.87).
Ben Dahlin broke his own school record in winning the 200 meters (22.46).

JCC’s girls were third in the team standings.
Luverne won it with 202.5 points, followed by Redwood Valley (151) and the Huskies (124).
Rylie Cother won the 100-meter hurdles (16.36) and high jump (5-0).
