Huskies start BSC schedule vs. Trojans

The Jackson County Central volleyball team will open its Big South Conference West Division schedule Thursday by hosting Worthington.

The Huskies are 1-2 on the season after a 3-1 loss to Mayer Lutheran Tuesday at Bethan Lutheran College in Mankato. The Crusaders are tied for second in the latest Class A rankings by the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association.

Paylin Sether led JCC in kills with seven, with Kylee Wenzel posting five. Wenzel also had eight digs.

Bailey Finck had 15 set assists.

Worthington is 3-1 overall with wins over Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, St. James Area and Fairmont and a loss to St. Peter.

Other conference openers Thursday have Class AAA No. 2 Marshall at Class AA No. 9 Redwood Valley and Windom at Luverne. Pipestone hosts Adrian/Ellsworth in a nonconference match.
