TRIMONT – Jackson County Central won its second Big South Conference wrestling title since the conference was formed in the 2014-15 school year, winning 11 of 14 matches in a 50-13 win over Martin County Friday.
The Huskies won five matches by fall, two by major decision and four by decision. The Red Bulls had one fall, one major and one decision.
Winners by fall for JCC were Isaac Rodriguez (106), Nolan Ambrose (113), Caleb Vancura (182), Will Freking (195) and Trace Michelson (220). It was Michelson’s 50th career win.
Picking up majors were Kie Anderson (120) and Logan Butzon (132). Claiming decisions were Thomas Freking (138), Isaiah Rodriguez (152), Payton Handevidt (160) and Matthew Haley (170).
For Martin County, Max Olson (285) won by fall, Jesse Potts (126) won a major decision and Kain Sanders (145) won a decision.
Jackson County Central is 13-3 in duals.
The Class 1A second-ranked Huskies will host Madelia/Truman/Martin Luther, Red Rock Central and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove in a quadrangular Thursday and then travel to Belgrade Friday for a triangular where they will wrestle No. 6 Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Browerville and No. 1 Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.
Martin County is 13-3.
The Class 2A No. 8 Red Bulls compete in the Valley Conference tournament in St. Clair on Tuesday and then hosts Worthington and New Ulm in a triangular in Fairmont on Thursday.

In the first two years, all 13 conference teams competed at one site.
Since then, the West Division champion has met the East Division champion in a dual for the title.
