Voting will begin soon on Twitter in our random bracket challenge.
From this evening through Friday morning, you’ll be able to vote on each of the first-round matchups in the Dean Walters Region.
The results will be reviewed Friday evening and then voting will be held in the Pat Frank Region.
That’s the general plan as we make our way through the tournament. This is a random bracket so at times the schedule may be somewhat random, but I’ll keep you updated on Substack and Twitter.

Here’s a look at the Dean Walters Region:
1 Sporks vs. 8 Refried Beans
A spork is a hybrid form of cutlery taking the form of a spoon-like shallow scoop with two to four fork-like tines.
Refried beans are a dish of cooked and mashed beans that is a traditional staple of Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine.
4 Ice-T vs. 5 Iced Tea
Ice-T is a rapper, songwriter, actor and producer. Since 2000, he has played NYPD Detective/Sergeant Odafin Tutuola on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He also does commercials for Car Shield.
Iced Tea is tea served with ice.
2 Angie Dickinson vs. 7 Venetian Blinds
Angie Dickinson is an actress born in Kulm, N.D. She has appeared in more than 50 films. From 1974-1978, Dickinson starred as Sergeant "Pepper" Anderson in the NBC crime series Police Woman.
Venetian Blinds are a window covering option. They have 2-inch horizontal slats made of aluminum, wood or plastic, one on top of another.
3 Medical Cables vs. 6 Packing Peanuts
Medical cables are designed to connect medical and laboratory instruments and equipment. They transmit power and/or data and usually have an abrasion-resistant jacket that provides relatively low surface friction and mechanical durability.
Packing peanuts are a loose-fill packaging and cushioning material used to prevent damage to fragile objects during shipping.
