Jackson County Central will host Estherville Lincoln Central in a nonconference basketball doubleheader Tuesday. The girls game tips off at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow.
For the girls game the Huskies are 3-1 after a 69-68 loss at home to New Ulm Friday. JCC had a 66-52 lead, but the Eagles outscored the Huskies 17-2 the rest of the way.
Three players scored in double figures for Jackson County Central with Rylie Cother scoring 18 points with Brylee Anderson and Paylin Sether each scoring 13.
ELC was ranked first in the Iowa Class 3A poll (out of five classes) to start the season and was rated third last week. The Midgets were 3-2 heading into a Monday night road game at North Union, with those losses coming to No. 5 Roland-Story and No. 1 Mount Vernon.
Fifth in scoring
It’s a small sample size, but the Jackson County Central girls are fifth among Minnesota’s Class 2A teams in scoring. Windom is ninth.

Home opener for the boys
JCC’s boys will play their first home game after opening the season with an 85-73 win at New Ulm.
Grant Freking equaled a career high in scoring with 32 points and also had 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals. It’s the third time he’s scored 32 points in a game.
Weston Rowe scored 19 points and Carter Buhl 13. Aiven Farmer grabbed nine rebounds and Carson Pohlman eight.
ELC was 0-2 going into a Monday game at North Union.
