Huskies to host Buccaneers Thursday
Jackson County Central will host another basketball doubleheader Thursday as the Huskies entertain Blue Earth Area in a meeting of teams from the Big South Conference East Pod. The girls play at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow.

JCC comes into Thursday’s game on a six-game winning streak after a 93-58 win at Worthington on Tuesday.
Rylie Cother led the Huskies in scoring vs. the Trojans with 29 points as she assumed the school scoring record.

Jackson County Central is 9-6 overall while the Buccaneers come to Jackson 0-11. BEA’s last game was a 75-50 loss at Pipestone last Friday.
It will be JCC’s third game in four nights. The Huskies were winners at home over Luverne Monday before traveling to Worthington.
The Huskies won the first meeting between the teams 84-27 in Blue Earth on Dec. 3.

The Class 2A fifth-ranked JCC boys will also be playing for the third time in four nights with wins over Luverne and Worthington earlier in the week running their winning streak to four games. The Huskies are 12-1.
BEA has lost four straight to fall to 6-6. The most recent game for the Bucs was a 77-57 loss at Pipestone last Friday.
Jackson County Central is among 10 Class 2A boys teams in the state with one loss or fewer. There are three undefeated squads and seven with one loss. Last week there were four unbeatens and 11 with one loss.
