After receiving 14 offers from Power Four conference football schools, Jackson County Central junior Roman Voss announced on social media Wednesday that he has narrowed his list of possible schools to two.
One is home state Minnesota. The other is Alabama.
Voss received offers from at least one school in each of the Power Four conferences:
Big 10 (6)
Iowa
Illinois
Minnesota
UCLA
USC
Wisconsin
Big 12 (3)
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
SEC (3)
Alabama
Auburn
Oklahoma
ACC (2)
California
Miami (Fla.)
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Voss is the top prospect in Minnesota for the Class of 2026 by prepredzone.com and 247Sports.
Voss has been listed as an Athlete by scouting services. He’s played quarterback and receiver on offense and safety on defense for the Huskies.
Minnesota was the first school to make an offer, doing so in May 2024.
In early January, less than 72 hours after getting doused with mayonnaise while sitting next to Flava Flav after a win over Virginia Tech in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte, Gopher coach P.J. Fleck and his entire offensive staff made an in-home visit to the Voss home in rural Jackson County.
Minnesota’s coaches have made it clear to Voss that he's a top priority for them. Voss was at a Gophers game last fall, took part in a Junior Day event this winter, and was on campus recently for a spring practice.
He’ll make his official visit to Minnesota on May 30.
Minnesota was 8-5 in Fleck’s eighth season with the Gophers in 2024, including its 24-10 bowl win over Virginia Tech.
The Crimson Tide were the 13th school to bid for the services of Voss, extending an offer in late March.
Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer has familiarity with the region. He is a native of Milbank, S.D. and played at the University of Sioux Falls, where he was an all-American wide receiver, setting school records for receptions, receiving yardage and touchdown catches.
DeBoer was head coach at USF for five seasons, winning three NAIA national championships and finishing as runner-up once.
The Crimson Tide were 9-4 in DeBoer’s first season as head coach, losing to Michigan 19-13 in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa.
Voss has an official visit to Tuscaloosa scheduled for June 13.
