JACKSON – A mere 68 days after the start of the season, the Jackson County Central varsity gymnastics team will compete at home for the first time this season. Two days later, the JV Huskies will get their chance to perform on their home equipment.
On Saturday, JCC hosts the 37th annual Sweetheart Invitational for varsity teams and then Monday it’s the JV Sweetheart Invitational.
There are seven teams scheduled to compete in Jackson on Saturday, with four teams ranked in the top 25 in the state in their respective class this week.
The host Huskies were 16th in the Class A ratings by the Minnesota Gymnastics Coaches Association ratings this week. Jackson County Central’s most recent meet was a 136.15-131.575 loss at No. 9 New Ulm Tuesday.
Other ranked teams slated to compete are Class A No. 2 Worthington, Class A No. 24 Redwood Valley and Class AA No. 3 New Prague.
Rounding out the field are Martin County Area, Redwood Valley, Windom/Mountain Lake and Edina.
Competition starts at 11:15 a.m. Saturday and will runs until about 2 p.m.

JV Sweetheart
Jackson County Central then hosts the three-team JV Sweetheart Invitational on Monday.
Other teams participating will be Martin County Area and Worthington. Competition starts at 5:30 p.m.
